I have heard, many times, people argue that the record companies are ripping off the recording artists, making huge profits on their music while paying the recording artists next to nothing for their work. So, why shouldn’t consumers rip off the record companies as a matter of justice?

These days, it is so easy to find music to listen to for free. You can burn copies of your friends’CD’s more easily than you can make toast. You can browse the MySpace web pages of various music groups and listen to the song samples they have posted there for you to sample. There are many “file sharing” web sites and software where one can easily download all kinds of music for free.

Never say Never. I’m Musing on a new Recording

After making “Melodia”, I thought I was going to have to be hospitalized, or at least checked in for some electro-shock therapy. This CD cut a lot of new ground for me. I wrote, orchestrated, produced, and performed all the music. Plus I’m a perfectionist, so I drove myself crazy for 2 years. Actually, writing the music was fun! But when it was over, I said “Never again”. I lied.

My latest conception will also be new. It will be solo violin only, “a capella”, with no accompanying ensemble.
