Two original poems

I used to write poetry, ages ago.  I just found two of them.  They’re not bad, actually.  I did a little revising on them, and am “re-publishing” them now for anyone who cares to read.  Enjoy!

WINTER

Mammouth trunk of furrowed bark, rising from the ground,
rising till it splays out branches, with angry gnarls of brown.
Bent and shaking at the sky, they skitter out their fingers.
Devoid of leaf and life, the majesty still lingers.

Winter crystallizes death, infusing it with life.
It is a frozen block of time, all stillness with no strife;
A vacuum bell of silence, tolling back to home
all sentience upon the earth, to be with God alone.

MOVE THE EARTH

Weltering in reddish glow
the subterranean fire flows,
unseen by us on earth above,
sustained within by fire of love.

Omniscient air surrounds the earth
and feeds our souls as we give birth
to mighty deeds and sudden death
while calling God with every breath.

I long to give my fire away
to those whom darkness leads astray.
The warmth of blood beneath my chest
rages hard against it’s crest.

O Spirit bright, who shines within,
Split the earth to belch forth sin
until it rages out it’s power
to be the future soil for flowers.
